Included is information relating to building the Sasson Eskell Technical School: blue prints and architectural plans, lists of required materials for the building and operation of the school; letters to David Eskell about the school’s establishment; proposed curriculum and subjects of study. The item also contains documents concerning property owned by Jewish organizations such as Ḥevrah Ḳadishah and Midrash Talmud Torah.

certificate of school inspection, post office receipts, and information from the Office of Social Security.

This is an almanac from 5732 (1971 – 1972) for the Baghdadi Jewish community. It includes a calendar of the year with both Jewish and Gregorian dates, dates of holidays, and Torah portions for the week. The book is printed in Hebrew, Judeo-Arabic, Arabic, and English. There are many copies from different years in the collection.

This is a group of hand written letter, some in Judeo-Arabic, between Baghdadi Jews in Jerusalem, England, Hong Kong, India, and Baghdad. Included are: an envelope addressed to Rabbi Jacob Joseph Haim, India; a letter from the Sephardic Israeli Community in Jerusalem, Palestine; a letter from David Sassoon to Rabbi Haim in Baghdad giving an order to pay him an amount of money.

This is archival material from the Baghdadi Jewish community containing a list from the Aiding Committee of Victims of June 1941 (the Farhud). Included are: an inventory of lists containing names, business shop numbers, professions, assets stolen from a shop or a house, the remaining amount, and the amount suggested for assistance.

These are Judeo-Arabic wedding registries for the Baghdadi Jewish community from 1947-1949. Columns included are names of the bride and grooms, the amount of the ketubah (Jewish marriage contract), date, fees paid.

These are archival documents from the Shamash Secondary School. The majority are copies of the University of Cambridge Lower Certificate in English exam containing dictation passages, reading passages, translation from and into Arabic, and translation from and into French for 1954 and 1955. There are also copies of the composition and language section for 1952-1958 and 1966, and the prescribed books section for 1950, 1954-55, 1957, and 1966. There are Shamash Secondary School exams, fourth form, for algebra, 1969-1973; and general mathematics, 1965 and 1970. Handwritten mathematics notes and answer keys accompany the Shamash exams.
